1. What is Mobu?
Mobu is the ultimate website for mobile gamers! Check out the latest titles, play demos and buy java games for your mobile phone. All the games on Mobu have specially selected from the top game developers around the world to bring you the best mobile games money can buy!
2. My phone isn't listed on the website
Only phones equipped with java are capable of running the games featured on Mobu. Some games may not be available for all devices. New java phones are continuously added to Mobu, so if you can't see your phone now, try again later. Do not attempt to purchase and download the game if your phone is not listed as compatible as this will result in an error.
3. I can't play any of the demos on the website
The game demos will only work on computers equipped with Internet Explorer 5+ or Netscape 6+. Make sure you have the most recent version of your browser.
4. Will the game fit on my phone?
You need to make sure there is enough free memory available on your phone, otherwise the download will fail. If you are not sure how to check how much memory is available on your phone, check the manufacturers instructions or consult their website. The size of the game will be displayed once you have confirmed your phone model during the buy process.
5. How much do the games cost?
The cost of the game depends on which country you are in and the payment method you select. You can check the price by selecting a game and clicking 'download to my phone' and following the instructions until you see the price.
6. How do I buy a phone game with my credit card?
For Credit card and Debit card purchases
Make sure you are on the webpage for the game you wish to purchase, then click 'download to your phone'.
Make sure the phone model displayed in the top menu is correct - selecting the wrong phone will result in the download failing.
Click on the flag for the country you are in, or select your country from the list.
You should now see all the payment options available to you. To pay by credit or debit card, click on the card type you wish to pay with.
Once you have entered your payment details, select 'make payment'. Once your payment has been processed, you will be sent a wap push message to your phone. Just select the message and follow the instructions to download your game. If you do not receive the wap push you are also provided a download code in the confirmation e-mail. You can connect to the mobu wap site at http://mobu.com/wap where you will be asked for your download code. Once the code is accepted your game download will commence.
7. How do I buy a game via SMS?
For Premium SMS purchases
Premium SMS is only available in certain countries and for certain phones. Currently, this service is only available for customers in the United Kingdom.
Once you have selected the game you wish to purchase, simply SMS the code dispayed to the number 84049. You should receive an SMS with a link to the game within a few minutes - simply follow the instructions to download the game to your phone. The cost of the game will appear on your next mobile phone bill.
8. How do I install and play the game once I have downloaded for it?
This depends on the type of phone you have:
Nokia: After downloading the game, go to the 'Games' menu, then select the game you downloaded. If the game is not in the Games menu, it may be located in the Applications menu.
Sharp: After downloading the game, go to My Phone->My Java Games-> Saved Games menu. Then select the game you downloaded
Siemens: After downloading the game, go to the folder where you stored the game by clicking on 'Surf / Fun' and 'Java' and the name of the folder and application you specified during download.
9. I ordered by SMS but did not recieve my SMS
After you've ordered your game, you should receive an SMS on your mobile phone within a couple of minutes. There may sometimes be delays if our network is busy, but if you still haven't received anything after 24 hours please contact us
10. I get a message saying "Sorry, your download has expired"
You have a time limit of 24 hours to download your game, starting from your first download attempt.
If you require your time limit to be reset, please let us know.
11. My download didn't complete
The download codes are only valid for a short time after you submit them on the wap site. If your download was interrupted (for example due to low battery or loss of signal) please contact us and we will re-activate your code so that you can try again.
12. I downloaded the game without a problem but now it runs slowly and sometimes crashes
This usually occurs because your phone is low on memory. You can delete old games, ring tones or even screen graphics to give your phone enough memory to play games. If you are still experiencing a problem, let us know and we'll see if we can solve it.
13. I paid for a game but have lost the download code
Please contact us with your details and we'll try and help you out.
14. How do I create a WAP bookmark for Mobu?
Nokia - Go to the Services menu, click Options then Add Bookmark. The bookmark name should be set to Mobu and the Address should be set to http://mobu.com/wap
Siemens - Go to the Surf & Fun menu, click Internet then Bookmarks then Options. Click Edit and set the Name to Mobu and URL to http://mobu.com/wap
Sharp GX10 - Go to the My Phone, My Bookmarks menu. Click Add and set the name to Mobu and the URL to http://mobu.com/wap
SonyEricsson T610 - from the main menu select 'internet services'. When the WAP page is loaded, press more, and select New Bookmark, and set the address to mobu.com/wap (The http:// prefix is not needed)
15. I can't connect to the Mobu WAP site
If you are unable to connect to our WAP site, this is probably because your phone is not set up to access WAP. You will need to configure it before you can access the site or download any games. Your operator will be able to help you do this if you are not sure how.
16. There was no link to download the test application on the Mobu WAP site
If in the download section of our WAP site you did not see a link to "download test" this is because your phone has not been recognised. All devices that our games are available on will be identified on the wap site, so if you cannot see the link, your phone is not compatible.
17. I tried to download the test application but it didn't work
If you were unable to download the test application it is likely that your country does not have a compatible WAP gateway so you will not be able to purchase our games via credit card. If other payment methods are available in your location use one of those, if not they will hopefully become available soon.
18. Is my personal information secure when I order a game from mobu.com?
All transactions on mobu.com use SSL (Secure Socket Layer 128-bit encryption). For all payments in euros, transactions are handled by the Credit Mutuel de Bretagne (http://www.citelis.com). All other purchases are handled by Verisign (www.verisign.com). Mobu.com does not display, record or have access to any of this financial information.
